Short Description

Come enjoy a nice and quiet dromedary ride along Fataga’s natural park with its desert landscapes, as well as being with the camels, knowing their customs and taking pictures with them. Also, if you are a lover of meat you will enjoy a wonderful Barbecue With us, if not, we have special menus for vegans. To end this day full of emotions, we will take a stroll through the tropical gardens of the area to see Gran Canaria´s beautiful flora, such as tabaiba (euphorbia), cardón (euphorbia) or the Canary Island Palm tree.

Feel yourself like Omar Sharif on the back of a camel in an Oasis of more than a thousand Palms, you will think that you have been carried to the far-East. Walk in a camel caravan through a majestic palm grove of over 300 years old.

If you want to spend a different day in Gran Canaria’s south on dromedary back this is your chance. All this in a desert environment and ideal to enjoy Gran Canaria‘s fauna and flora for a few hours.

The dromedary ride, approximately 1 hour, will take place in the Valley of Fataga, consisting of a row of 30 dromedaries that will be with you during the entire tour.

In addition to the ride, we want you to enjoy a day of total connection with the dromedaries, knowing their Customs, feed them, take pictures with them, etc., as well as spend a nice day during which you can also enjoy a vegans´ menu or deliciously barbecued typical products of our island.

After the meal we will go for a wonderful walk through the tropical gardens in the roundabouts where you will sight the extensive and amazing flora of the island, such as Tabaiba (euphorbia), Cardón (euphorbia) or the Canary Island Palm Tree.

Finally, we will return to the hotel with the feeling of wanting to repeat again and with the memory of having gone on a dromedary ride in one of the best places of the planet for it, namely Gran Canaria.

We did the hour safari...which took from 8:30 a.m. till 3:00 p.m....far more than the half day advertised. We were transported on a LARGE bus...which having made the same trip the previous day in a Jeep...I was surprised I felt safer in the Jeep. A huge bus is NOT made for the road taken to get to the safari. I live camels and have ridden for a shorter period in both Turkey and Dubai. I far prefer the traditional saddle...I also disliked how the camels had to wear masks... the camel behind us took a liking to me...and banged the mask into the back of my head and shoulder the entire time...my husband was able to hold the camel back some...but this left his arm in an awkward position for most of the ride. I think this excursion was okay...but had I known I was going to the same place and could have had this experience on the Jeep tour I would have opted for that. Like all your excursions, this was reasonably priced.
